Teri Kampwerth, DPT and Clinic Manager at the Vandalia ApexNetwork Physical Therapy clinic located at 1611 Veterans Ave. Ste. C, attended the Graston Technique course M1 at St. Louis University and is now a preferred provider.
This course will help Teri to better understand and assist patients with scar and soft tissue mobilization.

We would like to congratulate the winners of the 2014 Vandalia Chamber of Commerce Scholarships.
David Zimmerman, a senior at Vandalia Community High School who plans on studying English at SIU-Edwardsville, was selected for the $500 High School Senior Scholarship.
Katelyn Henna, a VCHS graduate studying elementary education at Greenville College, was selected for the $500 Adult Education Scholarship.
Both will be presented their scholarships at the Chamber's monthly board meeting on May 7. The meeting will be held at noon at Ponderosa Steakhouse. Brian Stout of the Park District will be the featured speaker at the Chamber's May 7 monthly members meeting.
Stout will be talking about the city pool and possible upgrades to it. Louise Morrison of the Fayette County Health Department was originally scheduled to discuss the Affordable Care Act, but will now speak later in the year.
The meeting will be held at noon on Wednesday at the Ponderosa Steakhouse. Chamber Scholarship winners David Zimmerman and Katie Henna will also be recognized at the meeting.
These meetings are open to current Chamber members and those interested in obtaining a membership. We will discuss current events within the organization and hear from an educational speaker.

Kaskaskia College is planning to host their seventh Annual Arbor Day Celebration. Arbor Day will be celebrated at Kaskaskia College’s Vandalia Campus on Wednesday, May 7 at 2 p.m. Kent Boyles, Environmental Biology Instructor and District Wildlife Biologist for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources will be the guest speaker for this event.
Arbor Day will be celebrated on the Kaskaskia College’s Main Campus in the Lifelong Learning Center on Friday, May 9 at 2 p.m. with Alex Eade as the guest speaker. Eade owns and operates a landscape contracting business in Washington County. In addition, he is currently the Superintendent at the RBM Golf Course in Okawville.
In addition to the guest speakers, both celebrations will hold a ceremonial tree planning, and a reception that will follow the ceremony.
Kaskaskia College and the Kaskaskia College Foundation launched its Arboretum project in 1991. Since then, over 280 trees have been planted. These trees offer a living tribute to individuals, institutions, and municipalities, as well as providing beauty to the KC Campus.
